Shadow of the Vampire is a 2000 independent period vampire Gothic mystery movie directed by E. Elias Merhige and written by Steven Katz. The movie stars John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe.
It is a fictional version of the making of the classic vampire movie Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens, during which the movie crew begin to think their lead actor, Max Schreck, is a vampire.
