Shamokin - (/ʃəˈmoʊkɪn/; Saponi Algonquian Schahamokink, meaning "place of eels") (Lenape Indian language: Shahëmokink[4]) is a city in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, United States. At the 2020 United States census, the population was 6,942.[3]
