Siedlce is the fourth most populated city in the Masovian Voivodeship. As of 2024, 74,780 people lived there.[1] It's around 90 km (56 mi) east of Warsaw.[2]

There is a painting by El Greco, Ecstasy of St. Francis of Assisi in the Siedlce Diocesan Museum. The Polish version of the mockumentary show The Office, called The Office PL takes place in Siedlce. There are a university, two cinemas, three public libraries and two important museums in Siedlce. It is also a local center for education, culture, and sports.

Siedlce was first mentioned in 1448, and was granted city rights in 1547. It used to be the home of important Polish noble families, Czartoryski and Ogiński, who helped it become a cultural center in Poland. From 1975 to 1998, Siedlce was the capital of its own Siedlce Voivodeship.
