Simpsonville is a town located in Greenville County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 28,078 in 2024, up from 23,354 in the 2020 Census.[6] It is the 23rd most populous city in South Carolina. Simpsonville is one of the three cities apart of the “Golden Strip”, along with Mauldin and Fountain Inn.
History
Simpsonville is named after Peter Simpson, a farmer from Laurens County who became its blacksmith and postmaster in the 1830s. [7]
The Simpsonville Clock Tower was built in 1987 as a donation from the Simpsonville mayor at the time, Ralph S. Hendricks. [8]
