Slippery When Wet is the third studio album by American hard rock band Bon Jovi and was released on August 18, 1986 by Mercury Records in North America and Vertigo Records internationally. It topped the album charts in Australia, Canada, Finland, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the United States. It went to number 2 in Austria, number 3 in Sweden, number 5 in the Netherlands, number 6 in the United Kingdom, number 10 in Japan and number 11 in Germany.
