Solingen is a city in Germany, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is near Düsseldorf and Wuppertal.

About 165,000 people live there.

In 1993, five Turks were killed in an arson attack.

In 2024, three people were killed with a knife and eight people were injured in a mass stabbing, during a festival for the city's 650th founding anniversary.
