Sophie Xeon (September 17, 1986 – January 30, 2021), known by the stage name SOPHIE, was a Scottish music producer, singer, songwriter, and DJ. She was known for her innovative and experimental approach to pop and electronic music.

Style

SOPHIE's music style was described as a "hyperkinetic" and futuristic take on pop. She became known for her unique sound, combining synthetic textures with emotional vocals. Some of her most popular songs include Bipp (2013) and Lemonade (2014).

Personal life

SOPHIE was a transgender woman. She came out publicly in 2017 with the release of her song and video It's Okay to Cry, which was celebrated for its vulnerability and openness.

Death

On 30 January 2021, at the age of 34, Sophie fell three floors from the rooftop of a building in Athens, Greece while attempting to take a picture of the full moon.[1] She died at around 4:00 AM. [2]
