The South African national Australian rules football team (Afrikaans: Suid-Afrikaanse nasionale Australiese voetbalspan; nicknamed the Lions)[a] represents South Africa in international Australian rules football.
South Africa is the only African country that currently competes in international Australian rules football. Although South Africa has never won the Australian Football International Cup, they are one of the better teams in the tournament, and they have competed in all six International Cups to date. Their best performance at the International Cup was when they finished third in 2008.
