Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is an upcoming animated superhero movie about the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales, also known as Spider-Man. It is made by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation and will be released by Sony Pictures Releasing. This movie will be the sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) and the final part of the Spider-Verse trilogy, which takes place in a multiverse of different Spider-Man universes. The movie is directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, with a script written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham. Shameik Moore voices Miles Morales,[1][2] with Jason Schwartzman[3] and Karan Soni also starring.[4] The story picks up right after the cliffhanger from Across the Spider-Verse, where Miles is stuck in an alternate universe.
Sony started working on this movie before Into the Spider-Verse came out in 2018. They later decided to split the sequel into two movies, announcing this in 2021. The title and original release date of March 2024 were revealed in 2022. However, the movie was delayed due to production changes and the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Work on the movie continued in December 2023 after the strike ended.
