Dame Stella Rimington (13 May 1935 – 3 August 2025) was a British author and spy. She was the Director General of MI5 from 1992 to 1996. She was the first female to have this role and the first whose name was public on appointment.[1][2]

Rimington died on 3 August 2025, aged 90.[3][4][5]
