Tanacharison was a Seneca leader called a half-king. He was born around the year 1700. In 1752, Tanacharison spoke to the British for his village and they got a Treaty.

In 1753, the French decided to build a colony in Ohio. Robert Dinwiddie, the Lieutenant Governor of Virginia was worried that the French would attack so Dinwiddie sent Major George Washington to see if they should be worried and Washington brought Tanacharison with him. Tanacharison and Washington fought the Battle of Jumonville Glen where Tanacharison killed Joseph Coulon de Jumonville by stabbing him in the brain.

After that Washington and Tanacharison fought against the French in the Seven Years' War. Tanacharison got sick with pneumonia and died.
