Tasmania men's cricket team
The Tasmania men's cricket team is based at Hobart in Tasmania. It has been active since 1851. The team is organised by Cricket Tasmania. Tasmania has first-class status, and has competed in the Sheffield Shield since 1977–78.[1] They have won the trophy three times, most recently in 2012–13. Their home ground is the Bellerive Oval. Tasmania's most famous players are David Boon and Ricky Ponting. Noted overseas players have been Richard Hadlee, Michael Holding, and Alan Knott.
