The Lowdown is an American television drama series created by Sterlin Harjo. It stars Ethan Hawke and premiered on FX on September 23, 2025. Internationally, it is released on Disney+.
Plot
The story is set in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a city full of contrasts, myths, and old wounds. Lee Raybon (Ethan Hawke) is a man who simply knows too much. He discovers dark truths that powerful people would rather keep hidden. Inspired by the writings of historian Lee Roy Chapman, the show mixes reality and fiction. Raybon moves through a world of corruption, family secrets, and bloody debts. Who is in control remains unclear for much of the series, but one thing is certain: in Tulsa, nothing is only black or white – there are only shades of gray.
