The Northman is a 2022 American epic historical action movie directed by Robert Eggers. It is based on the legend of Amleth. The movie stars Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Gustav Lindh, with Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe.

It is about Amleth, a Viking prince who goes out on a journey to avenge the murder of his father.^[4]
