Tobata-ku, Kitakyūshū

Tobata-ku (戸畑区) is a ward of Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Japan. It is the smallest ward of Kitakyūshū city. The ward is only 16.66 km² big. In 2000, the population of the ward was 64,330.

In 1899, the Tobata-cho (Tobata town) was created. The city was merged into Kitakyushu in 1963. It officially became part of the ward on April 1, 1963.
