Wellington men's cricket team

The Wellington men's cricket team, based at Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, has been active since 1873. The team has first-class status, and has competed in the Plunket Shield since 1909–10.[1] They have won the trophy 22 times, most recently in 2023–24. Their home ground is Basin Reserve in Wellington. The team is known as the Wellington Firebirds in limited overs matches.
