Yannick Nézet-Séguin
Yannick Nézet-Séguin (born March 6, 1975) is a Canadian conductor and pianist.
Biography
Nézet-Séguin was born in Montreal on 6 March 1975. Starting the piano at five, he chose to be a conductor at age ten. He studied at a conservatory in Montreal and started as the music director of the Orchestre Métropolitain in Montréal in 2000.
Currently, he is the music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He has held this appointment since 2012.[1] Since 2009 Nézet-Séguin has also been working with the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where he has orchestrated several operas.[2]
