ǁKaras is a region in Namibia. The capital is Keetmanshoop. It was originally called "Karas Region" until the name was changed in August 2013 to include the "ǁ" symbol.[3]
Aletta Fredericks became Governor in 2020.[4]
The Karas mountain range is in the southern part. Fish River Canyon is also in the region.
There are 7 constituencies:
- Berseba
- Karasburg East
- Keetmanshoop Rural
- Keetmanshoop Urban
- ǃNamiǂNûs (formerly Lüderitz Constituency)
- Oranjemund
- Karasburg West
