The 2025 Chinese Grand Prix (known for advertising reasons as the Formula 1 Heineken Chinese Grand Prix 2025) was a Formula One auto race that happened on 23 March 2025 at the Shanghai International Circuit in Shanghai, China.[5] It was the second race of the 2025 Formula One World Championship.[6] It was also the first of six Grands Prix in the season to utilise the sprint format and the second time overall that the Chinese Grand Prix featured it.[7] It was the first of the year to have a sprint race, which will happen at 5 other races in 2025.[8]

Lewis Hamilton fron Ferrari won the sprint race pole position and won the sprint. Oscar Piastri from McLaren was 2nd. Max Verstappen from the Red Bull Racing Team came 3rd.[8] Piastri won his first Formula One Grand Prix pole position, with George Russell from Mercedes starting 2nd. Teammate of Piastri, Lando Norris, started 3rd.[9]

In the Grand Prix race, Piastri won with Norris in 2nd and Russell in 3rd.[10] Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton and Pierre Gasly were disqualified from the race. Leclerc and Gasly were disqualified because their cars were too light.[11] Hamilton was disqualified because the skid block on his car was too thin and damaged.[12] This was the first time in Formula One that both Ferrari drivers were disqualified from a Grand Prix.[b]
