The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, also called FIFA Club World Cup 25, was the 21st time this tournament happened. It was the first time with a new bigger format. The FIFA Club World Cup is an international club football competition organised by FIFA.[1][2]

The tournament was in the United States from 14 June to 13 July 2025. There were 32 teams in the competition. The teams included the winners of each continent’s top tournaments from 2021 to 2024 and other teams that qualified.[3]

Chelsea won the title for the second time. They beat Paris Saint-Germain 3–0 in the final.[4]

Manchester City joined the tournament as the defending champions. They won the 2023 tournament under the old format. But they lost in the round of 16 to Al-Hilal.[5]

The new tournament format was announced in March 2019. It was first planned for China in 2021 but was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, FIFA decided the United States would host the event.[6]

Some groups, like FIFPRO and the World Leagues Forum, said the new format could cause too many matches and make players tired. Ticket prices were also criticised. Prices for some matches were reduced because of low sales.

The global broadcasting rights belong to DAZN, an online streaming service. They shared the matches with other TV broadcasters. A total of $1 billion in prize money was shared by the 32 teams.

Schedule

On December 17, 2025, The FIFA said the tournament, the first matches has been scheduled to start at early summer (June 14 2025) and end at July 13 2025.[7]

Qualified teams

The qualified teams such as Al Hilal, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Al Ain, Urawa Red Diamonds, Ulsan HD, Wydad AC, Al Ahly, Chelsea, Bayren Munich, Inter Milan, Flamengo, Mamelodi Sundowns, Inter Miami, Boca Juniors, Paris Saint Germain, River Plate, Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and 12 other qualified teams.[8]

On 3 March 2025, León was removed due to broken rules of FIFA.[9]

On May 2025, Los Angeles FC was qualified after 2-1 won against Club América in playoff.[10][11]
