Bodrogkisfalud
Bodrogkisfalud is a village in Tokaj District of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. Its population in 2024 was 770.
Location
It lies on the right bank of the Bodrog near Tokaj, 48 kilometres east of Miskolc, the county seat.
It is completely integrated with its southern neighbour Bodrogkeresztúr, so there is practically no distance between them. Szegi is 1 km away, Szegilong 3 km, while the nearest towns are Tokaj 7 km away, Rakamaz 11 km, Szerencs 14 km and Sárospatak 25 km.
History
It is first mentioned in 1220 as Kysfalud. In 1317 it was already a church property and in 1459 it belonged to Tokaj. The Turks destroyed the village and the surrounding settlements. In 1567 the inhabitants returned and rebuilt the village.
In 1950 it was united with the neighbouring village of Szegi, and from 1951 the united village was called Bodrogszegi. In 1991 the two villages separated again.
Population
In 2022, 93.6% of the population identified as Hungarian, 1.3% as Gypsy, 0.3% as German, 0.3% as Armenian, 0.1% as Ukrainian, 1.8% as other non-Hungarian (6.4% did not declare; due to dual identities, the total may be higher than 100%). By religion, 30.9% were Roman Catholic, 11.6% Reformed, 11.1% Greek Catholic, 1% other Christian, 0.1% Israelite, 10.8% non-denominational (34.3% did not respond).[1]
