Gardner is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States.[5] In 2020, 23,287 people there.[3] It is in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Geography
Gardner is at 38°48′44″N 94°55′35″W / 38.81222°N 94.92639°W (38.812358, -94.926291). The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 11.72 square miles (30.35 km2). Of that, 11.66 square miles (30.20 km2) is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 km2) is water.[2]
Climate
Gardner has hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. The Köppen Climate Classification system says that Gardner has a humid subtropical climate. It is abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.[6]

2020 census
The 2020 census says there were 23,287 people, 8,005 households, and 5,938 families living in Gardner. Of the households, 66.1% owned their home and 33.9% rented their home.
The median age was 32.6 years. Of the people, 79.2% were White, 3.9% were Black, 1.8% were Asian, 0.6% were Native American, 0.1% were Pacific Islanders, 3.6% were from some other race, and 10.8% were two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.2% of the people.[3][7]

The 2010 census[8] says there were 19,123 people, 6,644 households, and 4,938 families living in Gardner.
