Juan Tuñas Bajeneta or Romperredes (17 July 1917 – 4 April 2011) was a Cuban footballer.[1]

Career

Tuñas played for Cuban clubs Centro Gallego and Juventud Asturiana. He joined Mexican club Real Club España in 1941, and won two Liga Mayor (Mexican First Division) titles with them.

He also played for Cuba at the 1938 FIFA World Cup in France.[2][3]

Personal life

His nickname Romperredes means "net-breaker", named after his powerful shots on goal with him once shooting a hole in a goalnet. After his retirement, he lived in Mexico City, and was the last surviving member of Cuba's squad from the 1938 World Cup.[4] He died in April 2011.[5]
