Kursk (Russian: Курск) is a city in Russia. It is the capital and the largest city of the Kursk Oblast. It is about 400 kilometres (250 miles) south of Moscow. Kursk is where a large tank battle happened in World War 2. Three thousand German tanks and five thousand Soviet tanks attacked each other. The Soviets won the battle.
