Lee Chae-yeon (Hangul: 이채연; born January 11, 2000) is a South Korean singer and dancer. She was a member of the girl group Iz*One. She started her solo career in 2022 with her first EP, Hush Rush.

Early life

Lee Chae-yeon was born on January 11, 2000, in Yongin, South Korea.[1] She is the older sister of Chaeryeong, who is a member of Itzy.[2]

Career

2013–2017: K-pop Star 3 and Sixteen

In 2013, Lee was a contestant on the TV show K-pop Star with her sister. Both were praised for their dancing skills and later became trainees at JYP Entertainment.[3][4] In 2015, she joined the survival show Sixteen, which chose the members for girl group Twice.[5] After she was eliminated, she left JYP Entertainment to join WM Entertainment.

2018–2021: Produce 48 and Iz*One

In June 2018, Lee joined the show Produce 48 and became a member of the new group Iz*One. The group started with their first EP, Color*Iz, and the song "La Vie en Rose". They won many awards for new artists, which included the Golden Disc Awards and Seoul Music Awards.

In 2021, Iz*One ended after their contract finished. After that, Lee joined the dance show Street Woman Fighter.

2022–present: Solo songs

Lee began her solo career in 2022 with the EP Hush Rush.[6][7] In 2023, she released her second EP, Over the Moon, which included the song "Knock".[8] Later that year, she released her first single album, The Move: Street, featuring the song "Let's Dance". In 2024, Lee released her third EP, Showdown, with the song "Don't".[9] In 2025, Lee acted for the first time in the KBS1 show Let's Dance.[10]
