Development
Game Freak announced the game under the name of "Town" in September 2018.[1] The company shared no more information through August of that next year, when it registered a trademark.[2] The game was released for the Nintendo Switch on October 16, 2019.[3] The game's soundtrack was mostly written by Toby Fox, an indie developer better known for making Undertale.[3] In January 2020, it was announced that the game would have a collector's edition, published by NIS America, in June 2020.[4][5] That same month, it was also announced that it would be released for the PlayStation 4 in Japan on April 23, 2020, published by Rainy Frog.[6] Also, ports for Xbox One and Windows were released on July 2 and July 9, 2020.[7]
