Lycomedes of Scyros

Lycomedes was the King of Syros.

Lycomedes is the father of seven daughters, the most prominent being Deidamia, the wife of Achilles. This also makes him the grandfather of Neoptolemus. Lycomedes is also credited with killing Theseus by pushing him off a cliff. In other versions, its accidental. Later in life, Thetis, mother of Achilles, hides Achilles in his court. In some versions, Achilles is dressed a woman. Eventually, Lycomedes, along with a few others, find out Deidamia is pregnant with Neoptolemus and Achilles goes to the Trojan War. His death is unknown. He is also a minor character in the Song of Achilles.
