Nikolay Voronov
Nikolai Nikolayevich Voronov (Russian: Никола́й Никола́евич Во́ронов; 5 May [O.S. 23 April] 1899 – 28 February 1968) was a Soviet military leader. He became the chief marshal of artillery in 1944 and was named a Hero of the Soviet Union in 1965. Voronov led the Red Army's artillery forces from 1941 to 1950. He was in charge of Soviet artillery during the Battle of Stalingrad. He also worked as a Stavka (high command) representative during the Siege of Leningrad and the Battle of Kursk. Earlier in his career, he fought in the Russian Civil War, the Polish-Soviet War, and the Battle of Khalkhin Gol. He also helped the Spanish Republican Army during the Spanish Civil War.
