^ A: The Progressive Party is often described as "far-left" in South Korea due to its sympathies toward North Korea, opposition to the U.S. military presence in South Korea, and political similarities to the defunct Unified Progressive Party (UPP; 통합진보당).[1][2]

The Progressive Party (Hangul: 진보당), formerly known as the Minjung Party (Hangul: 민중당, lit.'People's Party') until June 2020,[3] is a left-wing[4][5][6] progressive and left-wing nationalist political party in South Korea.

Democratic socialists in South Korea, including the Labour Party, criticize the Justice Party and Progressive Party for allegedly being liberal rather than progressive.[7] Some see the Progressive Party as centre-left.[8]
