Rajavarothiam Sampanthan (Tamil: இராஜவரோதயம் சம்பந்தன்; Sinhala: රාජවරෝදියම් සම්බන්දන්; 5 February 1933 – 30 June 2024) is a Sri Lankan Tamil politician and lawyer. He has been the Tamil National Alliance party leader since 2001. He has also been a Member of Parliament since 2001. He was the Leader of the Opposition from September 2015 to December 2018.[1][2] He passed at a private hospital on 30 June 2024, at the age of 91.[3]
