Ram Chandra Poudel (Nepali: राम चन्द्र पौडेल; born 15 October 1944) is a Nepali politician who was the third president of Nepal from March 2023 to September 2025. He used to be a senior leader of the Nepali Congress. Poudel became president on 9 March 2023.[1]
In September 2025, it was reported that Paudel was going to resign as president as a result of the 2025 Nepalese Gen Z protests.[2] However it was later confirmed that Poudel did not plan to resign.[3] His official residence as president, the Rastrapati Bhawan, was also set on fire during the protests.[4]
