Sean Stuart Cairncross (born July 12, 1974) is an American politician, lawyer and businessman. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Early life
Cairncross was born in Ramsey, Minnesota.[2] His family was raised as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.[2] He studied at University of Cambridge and at New York University School of Law.
Career
Cairncross was the chief executive officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation from 2019 to 2020. He was a senior adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump during his first presidency.[3][4][5] He was the chief operating officer for the Republican National Committee.
National Cyber Director
Cairncross was nominated by President Donald Trump to be the National Cyber Director on February 11, 2025.[6]
