Shigeo Nagashima (長嶋 茂雄, Nagashima Shigeo, February 20, 1936 – June 3, 2025), nicknamed "Mr. Giants," was a Japanese professional baseball player and manager. He played for the Yomiuri Giants from 1958 until 1974. He was also manager of the team from 1975 until 1980 and from 1993 until 2001.[1]
Nagashima died in Tokyo, Japan on June 3, 2025 from pneumonia at the age of 89.[2][3]
