The Acancocha water frog (Telmatobius jelskii) is a frog. It lives in Peru.[2][3][1]

Home

This frog spends some of its time in water. It lives in streams and in grassy places on land. Scientists saw this frog between 2585 and 4500 meters above sea level.[2][1]

Scientists have seen this frog in a protected park: National Reserve of Pampa Galeras. They think it might live in Nor Yauyos-Cochas Landscape Reserve too.[1]

Young

This frog has young in streams, rivers, and springs with water that moves slowly and is not deep. This frog has young all year.[1]

Danger

Scientists from the IUCN say this frog is in only a little danger of dying out and scientists from Peru say it is in a little more danger of dying out in Peru. People change the places where the frog lives to get water to use for farms and other things and with bad chemicals. Scientists found the fungus Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis on the frog. This causes the disease chytridiomycosis, which kills frogs. People also catch this frog to eat and make into medicine.[1]
