Tertiary alcohol

A tertiary alcohol is when only three carbon atoms are connected to the hydroxyl-containing carbon atom.[1] This allows a compound with a tertiary alcohol to have a slightly different chemical formula from a compound with a primary alcohol or secondary alcohol.[1]
