The Red Green Show is a Canadian comedy television series produced by S&S Productions. The show was created by Steve Smith and Rick Green. The show ran from January 4, 1991 until April 7, 2006.[1] It was filmed in front of a live studio audience.

Smith said he created his character and the series as a parody of another television show called The Red Fisher Show which was a popular Canadian hunting and fishing series that ran from 1968 until 1989.[2]

In the show, Smith played he title character Red Green, a self-proclaimed handyman. He is known for his ability to fix things using duct tape. Green runs the Possum Lodge and, along with his nephew Harold, hosts different sketch comedy segments where he gives advice and helps viewers with their projects and tasks. It was the second most popular sitcom in Canadian television history.[3]

The shows was very popular during its run and earned nominations for 23 Gemini Awards, winning for Best Performance in a Comedy Program or Series in 1998.
