The Wey Macchiato is a compact luxury Crossover SUV made by Wey, a Luxury brand of Great Wall Motor (GWM).[1] From 2021 to 2023, it replaced the Wey VV5.
History and Features
The Wey Macchiato was shown at the Auto Shanghai in 2021.[2] In April it was put on sale in China. It was named after the Macchiato which is a type of Coffee the Wey Mocha and the Wey Latte another cars named after two types of coffee were also shown at the Auto Shanghai the Macchiato has a similar design to the Mocha and the Latte and uses the Lemon plataform developed by Great Wall Motor.[3]
The SUV is a Plug-in hybrid having a 1.5 liter gasoline engine combined with a electric motor with a Multi-mode DHT transmission a electric prototype version called ORA Big Cat was also shown at the Auto Shanghai.[4] it has a similar design to the Macchiato but with the ORA logo it has a 150 kW (201 hp) electric motor.[5]
Markets
The Wey Macchiato was sold mainly in China during its production.
Discontinuation
The production of the car stopped in 2023 while the Macchiato was discontinued without sucessor.
