It is located on Upper Clapton Road.
It links Upper Clapton to Liverpool Street in central London and Chingford.
Clapton is on a branch of the Lea Valley Lines. The branch adjacents Tottenham Hale and St James Street. The line joins up with the branch via Seven Sisters at Hackney Downs. Trains which call at Clapton do not serve the Tottenham Hale branch. Although Abellio Greater Anglia do also pass through Clapton railway station.
Clapton is in both Travelcard Zone 2 and Travelcard Zone 3.
