Michael is an upcoming American biographical musical drama movie based on the life and career of American singer, songwriter, and dancer Michael Jackson. It is expected to be released on April 24, 2026.[1] It was directed by Antoine Fuqua and was produced by Graham King, John Branca, and John McClain.[2] Michael Jackson will be played by his nephew Jaafar Jackson and it is the first movie he's acted in.[3] The ensemble cast also features Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, Kat Graham, Larenz Tate, and Derek Luke.
Premise
The movie follows Michael Jackson as he grows up in his family and his career from playing in the Jackson 5, to his rise as the "King of Pop", and his death.[4]
Production
Principal photography began on January 22, 2024 in Santa Barbara, California and finished on May 30.[5][6]
