Midnight Memories is the third studio album by English-Irish boy band One Direction. It was released on November 25, 2013, by Columbia Records, Syco Music, and Sony Music. The album has a slightly more rock-influenced sound compared to their earlier albums.[1]
It became the fastest-selling album in Amazon UK history, breaking the record set by their previous album Take Me Home (2012).[2] In the United States, it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, making One Direction the first group ever to have their first three albums debut at number one there.[3] Even though it was released late in the year, Midnight Memories became the best-selling album of 2013 worldwide, with four million copies sold, according to the IFPI.[4] The album was promoted with four singles: "Best Song Ever," "Story of My Life," "Midnight Memories," and "You & I."
