Palmerston North is a city in the North Island of New Zealand. It is the seat of the Manawatū-Whanganui region. The city is 140 km (87 mi) north of the capital, Wellington. Palmerston North is the country's seventh-largest city. As of June 2018, the city had an urban population of 86,600.
