Spolu (English: Together) is a centre-right political alliance in the Czech Republic. It consists of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), KDU-ČSL, and TOP 09. Since 2021, it has been in government with Petr Fiala serving as Prime Minister.[1]
History
In 2020, the Civic Democratic Party, KDU-ČSL, and TOP 09 began talks about forming an alliance for the 2021 parliamentary election. An agreement was reached on 25 October 2020. After initially being referred to as the Three Coalition, the parties announced that they would run under the name Spolu (meaning 'Together' in English).[2]
Despite most polls showing that the governing ANO would win, Spolu won the highest number of votes and the opposition parties won the most seats in Parliament. The parties agreed to nominate Petr Fiala as Prime Minister who was then asked by President Miloš Zeman to form a government on 9 November 2021. Fiala became prime minister on 26 November 2021.[3]
In the 2023 presidential election, Spolu endorsed Petr Pavel, Danuše Nerudová, and Pavel Fischer.
In October 2024, the parties agreed to continue as an electoral alliance for the 2025 parliamentary election.[4]
