The BYD D1 is a compact MPV made by BYD since 2020.

History and Features

In 2018 Didi a Chinese private transport company formed an alliance with brands that include BYD Volkswagen and BAIC Group to make purpose-bulit intelligent vehicles for ride-hailing and fleet management.[1] the D1 is the first purpose-bulit model Didi has revealed for the ride-hailing and that came out of the aliance.[2]

In August 2020 it was revealed that BYD received the approval of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China to make a electric vehicle co-developed witi Didi called D1.[3]

The BYD D1 was then launched in Beijing in November 2020 according to officials the name means "always day 1".[4] it has a electric motor with 100 kW (134 hp) and a range of 305 km (190 mi).

Markets

The BYD D1 is sold only in The Chinese Market however it isnt avaliable for normal buyers since its sold only for transport companies like Didi and is made mainly for ride-hailing but in April 2022 Vemo a Mexican company ordered 1.000 BYD D1S.[5]
