Jordan at the Olympicsis a history which began in 1980.
The International Olympic Committee's official abbreviation for Jordan is JOR.[1]
History
Teams from Jordan have been in every Summer Olympic Games since. It has been in the 1992 Winter Olympics but it has yet to appear since then.
As of 2011, no Jordanian athlete has ever won an Olympic medal. In the 1988 Seoul Games, Samer Kamal and Ihsan Abu Sheikha won bronze medals in Taekwondo. As this was Taekwondo's first time in the Olympics it was named a demonstration sport, not an official Olympic event. Ammar Fahed managed to get the third Jordanian bronze medal in Barcelona Olympic games 1992.
The National Olympic Committee for Jordan was formed in 1957 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1963.
