Joseph Duncan (February 22, 1794 – January 15, 1844) was an American politician. He was the sixth Governor of Illinois from 1834 to 1838. He is the only Whig to ever govern the state.

Duncan died at his home in Jacksonville, Illinois on January 15, 1844, at the age of 49.[1]
