Production Way–University is a train station in Burnaby, British Columbia. It is located at 3298 Production Way. It is owned by TransLink and is used by the SkyTrain in the Metro Vancouver area for both their Millennium Line and the Lougheed branch of their Expo Line.
The station was built in 2002 and opened on August 31. When TransLink was building the Millennium Line, they decided to start building new stations with Production Way–University being one of them. TransLink hired the architecture firm Hotson Bakker Architects to build the station.[1] On October 22, 2016, the station was made as the terminus for the Expo Line after the Millennium Line Evergreen Extension was created and lines were redesigned.[2]
It is an elevated station, featuring two tracks and a centre platform. For the Expo Line, it is preceded by Lougheed Town Centre towards Waterfront via Columbia with Production Way–University serving as the terminus for the line. For the Millennium Line, it is preceded by Lake City Way towards VCC–Clark and ends at Lougheed Town Centre towards Lafarge Lake–Douglas. In 2024, it was ranked at #36 of the 54 busiest stations in use for the SkyTrain.[3]
On May 21, 2007, the bus loop for the station was closed. During the closure, buses were forced to use the street to load passengers.[4] The bus loop was reopened at the station on July 28, 2008.[5]
The station serves as a connection for the 110, 136, 145, and N9 TransLink bus services.[6]
Around the station is Simon Fraser University and Burnaby Mountain Secondary School.
