Waterfront station (Vancouver)

Waterfront is a train station in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is located at 601 West Cordova Street and 439 Granville Street. It is owned by both Canadian Pacific Kansas City and TransLink, with Cadillac Fairview owning the building itself. Waterfront station is used by TransLink for their SkyTrain's Expo and Canada Lines, the SeaBus, and the West Coast Express. It serves as a terminus station for all of them.
On August 1, 1914, the station was opened by Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR).[1] When CPR used the station, it was the terminus for their Pacific area.[2] The building was used as a hospital for injured soldiers during World War II.[3]
It is both an at-grade and underground station, featuring six tracks and 3 different sets of centre platforms. For the Expo Line, it is the terminus station and ends at Burrard towards either King George or Production Way–University. For the Canada Line, it is the terminus station and ends at Vancouver City Centre towards either Richmond–Brighouse or YVR–Airport. For the SeaBus, it is the terminus station and ends at the Lonsdale Quay, which is also a terminus station. For the West Coast Express, it is the terminus station and ends at Moody Centre towards Mission City. In 2024, it was ranked at #1 of the 54 busiest stations in use for the SkyTrain's Expo and Canada Lines, as well as, the West Coast Express.[4]
The station serves as a connection for the R5 Hastings St TransLink bus service.[5]
Around the station is the Harbour Centre, Gastown, Waterfront Centre, Sinclair Centre, Canada Place, Vancouver Convention Centre, the Olympic Cauldron, the downtown campuses for Simon Fraser University and British Columbia Institute of Technology
