Burrard is a train station in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is located at 635 Burrard Street. It is owned by TransLink and is used by the SkyTrain in the Metro Vancouver area for their Expo Line.
The station was built in 1985 and opened on December 11. Austrian company Architektengruppe U-Bahn built the station so that people were able to move around on transit during Expo 86.[1] The station is named after Burrard Street, which in turn is named after both the Burrard Inlet and Royal Navy officer and Member of Parliament Sir Harry Burrard Neale, 2nd Baronet.[2]
It is an underground station, featuring 2 tracks and split platforms. It is preceded by the terminus at Waterfront and ends at Granville towards either King George or Production Way–University. In 2024, it was ranked at #6 of the 54 busiest stations in use for the SkyTrain.[3]
The station serves as a connection for the R5 Hastings St TransLink bus service.[4]
There are many attraction that are around the station. These include the Bentall Centre, Park Place, Royal Centre, Cathedral Place, and Art Phillips Park.
