Shin Ryu-jin (Korean: 신류진; born April 17, 2001), better known as Ryujin, is a South Korean rapper, singer, and dancer. She is a member of the girl group Itzy, which was formed by JYP Entertainment in 2019.
Early life
Ryujin was born on April 17, 2001, in Seoul, South Korea.[1] While she was in middle school, a JYP Entertainment agent saw her at a Got7 concert and invited her to audition.[2] She attended Hanlim Multi Art School and studied musical theatre with Chaeryeong.[3]
Career
2017: Before debut
In 2017, Ryujin appeared on the reality show MixNine.[4] She also appeared in the first episode of Stray Kids with Yeji, Chaeryeong, and Yuna, who later became her groupmates. In the same year, she appeared with Yuna in BTS's "Love Yourself" highlight reel and had a small role in the film The King.[5]
2019–present: Itzy and solo songs
Ryujin started with Itzy in 2019, when they released their first single album, It'z Different, and the song "Dalla Dalla".[6] In 2024, she released the music video for her solo song "Run Away".[7]
