29th Avenue is a train station in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is located at 2790 East 29th Avenue. It is owned by TransLink and is used by the SkyTrain in the Metro Vancouver area for their Expo Line.
The station was built in 1985 and opened on December 11. Austrian company Architektengruppe U-Bahn built the station so that people were able to move around on transit during Expo 86.[1] Much of the track and the station was once home to the Central Park Line for the former British Columbia Electric Railway.[2]
It is an at-grade station, featuring two tracks and a centre platform. It is preceded by Nanaimo towards Waterfront and ends at Joyce–Collingwood towards either King George or Production Way–University. In 2024, it was ranked at #26 of the 54 busiest stations in use for the SkyTrain.[3]
In January 2017, TransLink ordered upgrades for the station. This included another bus bay and better safety for the crosswalks near the station.[4] [5]
The station serves as a connection for the 16, 26, 29, and 33 TransLink bus services.[6]
Around the station is the German Canadian Heritage Plaza, Slocan Park, and Renfrew Ravine Park.
